Cookies and Canvas

Back in the spring we had bought a Living Social Daily Deal for Cookies and Canvas. The deal expired on November 12, so we had to use it soon. Jamie and I took the kids today to paint a purple pup.
The kids didn't know what to expect and they were excited when they got there and saw everything set up. We got there early so they got a great spot right up front. They got to eat their cookies when we first arrived.

Grant's Mommy had to work so we were so happy he went with us. We missed Andrea and texted her pictures while she was at work at the hospital.

The instructor was great and made the class so much fun. She instructed the kids step by step and talked them through the entire process.

All of the kids did a great job. The class was full and there were lots of artists at work.

It was neat to see all of the pups come to life.

They mixed colors to make different colors and added fun details to their paintings.

Baylor put a B on his dog tag for his name.

Where did they go?

The class was two hours and they all did great. We went to get treats at Maggie Moo's after were finished painting.

It was a fun day and they all want to go back again sometime.

New Recipe

Baylor stayed home from school on Friday since he had a bad cough. Before we went to the doctor to get it checked out he helped me get dinner ready and in the crock pot. We were making BBQ pulled pork stuffed baked potatoes. I can't lie I thought it sounded a little strange, but oh my it was tasty. I would definitely make it again and it was easy to get it all ready in the morning and then have it ready at dinner time.

I found this recipe on the blog, 4tunate. I love this blog and have found some great ideas and recipes. She is a mom to quad boys and they live locally.

Here are the ingredients:
2 Boneless Sirloin Tip Pork Roasts (or similar cut)
Salt and Pepper
2 Stalks of Celery
1 Medium Onion
1/2 c Water
Idaho Potatoes
Your Favorite Bottle of BBQ Sauce or Homemade Recipe ( I used Sweet Baby Ray's)
Sour Cream
Shredded Cheese
The first step is to put your pork in a crock pot with 1/2 cup water, 1 medium onion, and a stalk of celery. It then cooks on low for 7-8 hours. When done cooking take out pork and shred and clean out your crock pot. After shredding pork add it back to crock pot and add your favorite bbq sauce. I used two bottles. Then let it cook for a 1/2 hour.
I cooked my baked potatoes in another crock pot too and it was so easy. Simply wash your potatoes and then wrap in foil. Put in crock pot on low and cook for 8 hours. They turned out great and were easy!

Parker loved the pork and had three helpings.

Scoop our a little baked potato and add sour cream, then add shredded cheese, and top with pork. It all tastes so good together. The pork is then great the next day for sandwiches.

After dinner we worked on getting out Christmas decorations. It's beginning to look like Christmas at our house!

Just had to share this costume cuteness one more time. He has loved dressing up this year.
Halloween is over and we are ready for Christmas! We went to The Christmas Tree Shop this week and found some good Christmas crafts and things for the boys to make this holiday season. Let the fun begin.

After Mops on Tuesday we went with Jen and Ethan to Greenwood to shop. These two played peek a boo together in the dressing room mirror. We were helping Jen with her Christmas shopping since Baby Girl Rohn will be here in early December.

After our dentist appointment all of this candy is gone.

He had lots of projects this week.

Parker is really into playing right now. He loves Duplo Legos and Mr. Potato Head. He wants you to sit right by him and he says play.

We went to Holiday Mart with Mimi and found some cute stuff. Mimi got the boys a chocolate oreo sucker. It made the stroller a little better.

The boys love playing with Dad. We are loving his new reduced travel schedule.

We visited Daddy at work this week and brought him a shake. Baylor loves to draw on his dry erase wall.

Baylor had a bad cough and stayed home from school today. We went to the doctor and it is just a cold but it was nice to spend the day at home. A little fighting with his younger, middle, brother made me know he wasn't too sick.

Baylor helped me get a new recipe together this morning. We are having BBQ Pulled Pork Stuffed Potatoes. I'll let you know the verdict.

We took Parker to the doctor and it was a long time to keep him busy while we were waiting for the doctor to check out Baylor. We went through lots of purple gloves.

Look what's back. Peppermint Chocolate Chip Shake from Steak n Shake. I got hooked on this when I was pregnant with Parker, at least then I had an excuse. I can't really justify eating one every day now, but oh my they are tasty. I had to share with Parker too, I think he remembers how many I ate when I was pregnant with him.

Happy Day Project

When I read about the Happy Day project I knew I wanted to join in the fun. What a great family project and way to spread love to others. Here is the schedule for next week. We may alter a few of the days but stick as close as we can to the schedule. I'm excited and happy!

Embracing the Camera with Mama

Mama spent the evening with us tonight while Papa worked at the food pantry. The boys were still in their jammies from naptime since it was rainy and cold. They sat with her and read books while I got dinner ready.
Parker wanted to sit right by her.

Cooper decided to get dressed and they went over the Target toy guide. He was picking out some items for his Christmas list and showing them to Mama.

I made frech dip sandwiches, curly fries, macaraoni, and chocolate chip cookies for dinner. I love this recipe from www.ourbestbites.com. It is so good and everyone eats it!

I love her!

Mama thought our house was cold so I got her hot tea and a blanket. She watched TV with Baylor before bath time.

After bath Parker came down and read with Mama again.

They were big pals tonight.

Dentist

Today the big boys and Mommy had cleaning appointments at the dentist. Cooper and I picked up Baylor at school and then headed to Greenwood.
Cooper was such a big boy and did great at his appointment. Poor guy has some cavities again and has to go back to the pediatric dentist next week. They really think his acid reflux issues are affecting his teeth, breaks my heart! We are really on a low sugar kick around here now. All of our Halloween candy is gone and we are on a milk and water only kick. The boys are not super excited about this, but we can do it.

Baylor has to go back to get all of his six year molars sealed and Mommy has one small cavity that needs filled.

After our appointments we all went to visit Daddy at work. We brought him a milkshake and spent some time in his office. We are thankful for a great dentist who makes the boys feel so comfortable and it is such a positive experience even when we get news we don't want to hear. Cooper was excited that he got to watch Spiderman during his visit and loved his new toothbrush and bouncy ball.

Riding Outside on November 1:)

We had to reschedule our time for horseback riding lessons this week since yesterday was Halloween. The boys were excited to go today. Everyone was a little tired and crabby today after such a big day yesterday, but they did great at the farm.
Cooper was really whiny and tired today but he listens so well to his teacher and worked really hard today. He thought it was hard to post and then balance with one hand. I am amazed at how much he has learned and how hard he tries while we are there. You would think he's been doing it longer than he has.

He calls his teacher Miss Teacher. He thinks it's hard to say her name, Miss Taralynn.

He loves Louise.

B loves her too.

Coop went first so Baylor and I read a stack of books while we were waiting for his turn. It was such a beautiful day I wanted to soak up the nice weather. I know that we are numbered on the amount of nice days we have left. I loved being outside in the sunshine on November 1. Horses lessons will not be as much fun in the winter!

Baylor is doing great too. He worked on getting Louise to change directions, back up, and maneuvered her around cones. He did great.

Miss Rosie wants them to be a horse show in the spring. We'll keep working.

Louise is a pro though and knows what she is supposed to do next before Baylor give her direction. She's had lots of lessons.

We all enjoy our time at Rosie's farm and I love all of the important lesson the boys learn while they are there.
