Child Like Prayers

Every night before bed we pray with each of the boys.  Park always wants Mommy and Daddy to both come in his room to say the "pray".  He sometimes wants to say it several times.  He's so sweet at bedtime.

Baylor has been praying that he would pass Math Club.

He brought home this paper and it made me tear up and laugh.  This was the back of his Math Club paper where he only missed one.  It says, "Fingers crossted.  Please God help me do this. Please".  I am praying that he passes soon too, because he is so close!

21 Day Fast

Every January our church does a 21 day fast.  Since I am nursing this year I didn't think I should do a Daniel fast or total fast.  This year I am fasting from sweets and "soda".  Funny tidbit I hate the word "soda" or "pop" but since I am fasting from all carbonated drinks I'll use the word.  I usually just call them by their name, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, etc.  Since I knew it would be 21 days before I had another on Sunday I tried to drink the whole case of Dr. Pepper!

 I've also decided that now is the time to start working out again.  Before I was pregnant with Sawyer I was working out regularly.  I loved taking Zumba classes and other exercise classes, but then I was so sick at first and didn't feel like working out at all.  So here I am back at it again.  I want to feel like I am in better shape again.  

Since I don't want to take these little ones to a gym and expose them to so many germs we will work out at home now.  They were so excited!  I must saying having cute little workout partners makes the time go faster!

Saturday morning Baylor had a basketball game, his best game ever, but we don't have any pictures to show for the game.  He made 4 baskets and played a great defensive game.  After the game Tom and I left to spend the day at Jamie's dads' funeral.  On the way home we saw this beautiful sunset and couldn't help but say "Good Job God"!  The sky was absolutely beautiful.

Surprise!

On Friday night Daddy was back home.  He was gone Tuesday-Friday and we were all so happy to see him.  The boys are crazy about their Daddy and were so excited to have him back home!  We just got a new Mexican restaurant in our little town and Tom brought home carry out with him.  At dinner he told us he had a surprise!  Who doesn't love surprises????  He had us watch a video and the boys were still a little confused.  Tom booked us on a 7 night Norwegian cruise lines cruise for Spring Break.  Once they realized they were all going they were so excited!  We can't wait for a great week together. 

Inside Fun at Conner Prairie

 Today Coop had preschool and afterwards we picked up Mimi and headed to Conner Prairie.  They have set up a new science discovery center in the big center atrium.

 The boys loved it!  This man spent so much time with the boys and went over everything with Cooper.  At this station you could make your own hot air balloon like the big balloon that is outside Conner Prairie.

 They also have all of these new building pieces that are awesome.  Parker loved it!

 They also played inside the discovery center.  Parker had fun playing farm.  I enjoyed my one on one time with him.  I think 3 may be one of my favorite ages.  He's loud and busy but so much fun and has the cutest expressions and I love to hear him talk.

 They could also test is objects would float or not.  He thought this was all great.  He wanted to stay in the science area the whole time.  I love Conner Prairie!  My boys love it and learn so much and I feel like it is less crowded and a little less germy, especially at this time of year.  We are fortunate to live in Indy where there are so many great museums and places for kids.

InstaFriday: January 18

1. Drew and Maddy rode home with Baylor on the bus on Friday.  The kids had fun together.

7. Saturday brought awesome weather.  I took Park and Saw on a walk with Bax.

Beach Day: Parker Style

Since Daddy was gone all week Mimi and Pop helped me out once again.  Coop spent the night with them on Wednesday night and stayed the day with Mimi on Thursday.  That left me with the littlest two at home.  I asked Parker what he wanted to do in the mroning and he went big and said I want to go to the beach.  Of course I said me too buddy, but we decided to pretend and have a beach day at home.

Parker was so excited.  He put on his swimming trunks, swim shirt, goggles, swimming vest, and got his beach towel.  We put the towel in my office and laid out in the sunshine.  We also read some ocean books.

He thought it was so great.

Then he went swimming in the kitchen.  He had the best time.  He wanted me to swim too, but I told him I could stand and swim:).

He said he could swim fast.

After swimming we did some crafts too.  He loves cutting and using the glue stick.

We also played beach games.  We played Gator Golf.  He was pretty good!

Then we played Chutes and Ladders.  He kind of likes to make up his own rules.  Since he was playing without his brothers I let him do his own thing.  He was fun to play with.

We also played Lucky Ducks.  He loves this game.  It was a fun beach day at home with my favorite 3 year old.  I was thankful to be able to spend time focusing on him.  Sweet Sawyer was such a good baby and enjoyed our day at home too.  It's amazing how easy it is with only two kids:)!
