First Day of Kindergarten

Ready to start a great year of school.
August 11, 2010.
He is getting so big.
We love you BMan and are so proud of you.
He was so happy his present was wrapped with a bow.
Parker liked watching Baylor. Cooper was still in bed which probably worked out great since he was crying last night because he wanted to go to school too.
He's now a student of NPE.
After the first day.
Mimi and Pop had a big present waiting for him after school.
He was so excited to get the big horse he has been wanting from Target.
Baylor was able to see Mimi, Mammaw and Pappaw before school. He had so many people call or text him to find out about his big day: Mimi, Pop, Aunt Von, Katie, Jenny, Mama, Aunt Anne, Katie C., Andrea, Jamie, Nicole, and Megan. Megan also sent Baylor a little care package with the Fisher Price School House ornament to remember starting school. It is so cute. He felt very loved today:)

Today was Baylor's first day of Kindergarten. I really can't believe our baby is starting school. This morning we woke up early and all got ready for the big day. Baylor had strawberries for breakfast and watched cartoons before school. We took pictures this morning and then gave Baylor a present for his first day. He got the boys doodle book and a book called, School Bugs. Mimi came and stayed with Parker and Cooper so we could both take him on his first day. He was very nervous when we walked in and went to his room. He didn't want us to leave but did great staying and was such a big boy. When I picked him up he was smiling and said it was good. He said there was mainly just talking and only a little bit of playing today. He also said that he didn't even learn how to read today. I told him it took a little more time than one day and he would learn new things. Later in the day he told Mimi and I that he would only go to school on the days that they worked on reading and stay home on all the other days. We told him that wasn't going to work and talked about all the other fun things he would learn. I think it was a good start to a great year. We are praying for him and his teacher that it would be a great year and a positive start to his elementary career. We love you Baylor and are so proud of you, our little kindergartner!
All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
by Robert Fulghum
Most of what I really need
To know about how to live
And what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten.
Wisdom was not at the top
Of the graduate school mountain,
But there in the sandpile at Sunday school.
These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life -
Learn some and think some
And draw and paint and sing and dance
And play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world,
Watch out for traffic,
Hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.
