Happy Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween!
Can you tell Baylor was not feeling like taking pictures at this point?

Three dinosaurs.

Ready to hit the trail.

The wagon is great.
On Halloween night we went to Mimi and Pop's house for a spooky dinner. She made mummy dogs, witches macaroni, bone breadsticks, pumpkin cheeseball, and lots of sweet treats. The boys had so much fun and were so excited to trick or treat. After eating Baylor felt much better and his fever was gone. Mimi and Pop got the boys a Woody guitar and some fun Halloween treats. Daddy and Pop took the boys around outside and they loved going to all the houses. Parker and I went to the first few but it was freezing so we came back with Mimi. She was very busy passing out candy in her spooky mask. It was a great night!

Pumpkins with Pop

The finished pumpkins. The one in the middle is eating two smaller pumpkins, it was so cute!
He loves Pop!
Parker wanted in on the pumpkin fun.
Working hard.
He was not going to let a little sickness ruin his day:).
He wanted a headless horseman face, good thing Pop is creative.
Love this picture.
Sunday morning started out a little different that we had planned. The plan was to go to church, breakfast and then head to Stony Creek Farms for a final pumpkin patch visit. Baylor woke up in the night on fire and was not feeling well at all. He had a temperature and was sick. I had to go to church to sing so Daddy stayed home with the boys and then I came home as soon as I was done. Tom took Baylor to the Minute Clinic because his lymph nodes were swollen but he just had a virus. He was so worried he wasn't going to be able to carve pumpkins with Pop or go trick or treating. He got started on Tylenol and Motrin and by the evening his fever had broke and he was feeling much better. Since the big dinner is this week we didn't want Mimi to get sick so Pop came over to our house to carve pumpkins. Both boys got to carve a pumpkin with Pop in the garage. Pop is a master pumpkin carver and is so fast and creative. He likes to make great faces and the boys had so much fun. They had some great looking pumpkins to add to the collection. Since we spend Halloween night at Mimi's house Pop took all the pumpkins home so we could light them all together.

Pumpkin Carving

The boys and their pumpkins.
Daddy's pumpkin.
He was so serious.
Coop with his pumpkin.
Daddy is a great carver.
Coop lost interest along the way and did a little playing in the garage.
He cleaned out his pumpkin all by himself.
The garage is the perfect spot for carving.
Excited brothers.
Tonight we carved our pumpkins. The boys picked which one they wanted to carve and then got right to work. They were so excited. They both enjoyed scooping out the inside and had fun getting messy. Coop picked Tigger for his pumpkin and Baylor wanted to do his all by himself. He added some shapes to his. Afterwards he decided his was not as good so he wanted to do it again on Sunday with Pop. He worked forever though and was so proud. The tools we had this year were perfect for him and he did great. Our pumpkins looked so good!

Trick or Treating Round Two

A black cat, Lightning McQueen, and Tigger with Grandpa.
Parker let Grandpa hold him for a bit and then wanted down to explore.
Baylor loved looking at all the pictures and seeing pictures of Grandma.
Tigger was happy with the chocolate!
Baylor and Grandpa.
I remember going trick or treating here when I was a little girl. It still feels just the same!
Baylor got a dinosaur and a book.
Coop loved his Dinosaur Train dino, he loves to watch this show and sing the song over and over and over again:).
Baylor is on a big coloring and drawing kick right now. He makes us things all the time and is quite proud.
Coop got some toys out and played nicely by himself.
Pappaw and Parker.
The boys with Mammaw and Pappaw.
After a very busy night on Friday we all slept in on Saturday and had a slow morning at home. Daddy cooked breakfast and we all relaxed a little. I love Saturday mornings! Things are so nice when we don't have to rush. We got dressed up in costumes again and made a few stops during the day. First we went to Grandpa's house. He had chocolate bars for the boys and they were quite happy. He had gotten out some photo albums of old pictures and went through them with Tom and I. There were some really neat pictures. I loved the ones of him from when he was in the service, so handsome and young. It is also nice to see pictures of Grandma and for my boys to hear about her. Baylor loved seeing pictures of Pop when he was just a boy. Afterwards we ran to Sams and got lunch and then went to Mammaw and Pappaw's house. We all ate lunch together and had fun spending time there. The boys got a Halloween surprise and they were all excited. Another successful trick or treating day!

Katie and Nick with Baylor.
Maddy as Snow White.
Addi liked the big slide.
So did Cooper.
Gigi is so cute as Alice.
Cooper went down the slide tons, Baylor loved the obstacle course and big sports bounce house. His pictures in them were all blurry.
I'm so glad the Gambrels came. Aunt Anne came too we were so happy.
The Flinks won the costume contest.
Mimi helped judge and pass out candy.
Baylor loved the games.
There was so much to do.
Mimi rescued the zebra and he got out of his stroller.
Katie, Gigi, and Coop played skee ball.
A great way to end the night.
He really enjoyed it!
Each year our church hosts the Harvest Hoedown. There is a costume contest, lots of candy, games, big bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, and food. It is always such a fun and seems to get bigger and better each year. Baylor wore a knight costume, Cooper was an astronaut and Parker was a zebra. The theme for the event this year was 2 by 2 Noah's Ark but the boys thought animal costumes would be too hot. They were busy the whole time we were there and had a great time!
