Coolest Night Ever at Sharky's

This was such a cool night. I love it when new experiences happen and you aren't even expecting anything. What a surprise. We had just finished dinner and went out on the pier. I took Cooper to the bathroom and Mimi took the other boys ahead. As soon as we came out we heard people yelling that someone caught a sea turtle. It was a teenage boy and he was at the end of the pier when he caught the turtle. He walked it to the shore per instructions from the Mote Marine. He was such a cute young boy and he was worried because people were yelling at him what to do but he was a smart fisherman and called the Mote right away and they gave him instructions on how to keep the turtle safe until the Mote arrived.
We watched from the pier for a long time and then I took the big boys down on the sand to get a closer look. How amazing is this!!!

When the Mote got to the beach they covered the turtle with a towel and then needed to keep her wet. This lady work in manatee research but was the closest to the beach so she came first and then they waited on a transport vehicle that was padded to protect the turtle. Turtles are not used to having pressure on their belly so she said it needs an air mattress for travel. Baylor got to dump the water on the turtle the whole time. What a neat experience.

He was such a big boy.

He kept getting water and pouring it on the turtle. Coop was right there too asking questions. The lady thought this turtle was probably 1-2 years old and weighed approximately 250 pounds. We stayed with the turtle on the beach until it started to downpour and then we headed to the car.

He was really worried about the turtle. The hook was a superficial wound but the Mote wanted to take the turtle in for xrays to make sure there were not other wounds. She said if necessary he would have surgery. If there was not any more damage he would probably be released back to this beach within 2 weeks.

We watched form the pier for a long time before heading to the beach. A Venice policeman gave the boys junior badges.

I will never forget tonight.

We could tell rain was on the way.

While this was going on their was a manatee on the other side of the pier swimming in very shallow water. You could see all the boat marks on his skin where he had been hurt.

Cheering on the crabs. Baylor won a race tonight. He picked silly string. The big crab #12 got out this week and is lost so it was harder to pick winners. We have loved going to kid's night at Sharky's.

Coop loves looking at the big aquarium.

It was pirate night.

They love the crabs.

He got a dragon painted tonight.

Baylor got funky fish.

He was telling her a big story about a dragon.

My big boy, I love him so!

Cheese.

Mimi and Coop.

Pals.

Baylor went back to bakery class today. He couldn't wait to go and today he got an apron.

His cake, such a great job!

He decorated two cookies too.

He signed up to go back tomorrow he had so much fun.

The little boys spent the day at the pool with me.

We ate lunch at the pool again.

Coop had fun playing beyblades all alone in the morning before we went out. He got to use all four.
