Harvest For The Hungry

Tonight was the 6th Annual Harvest for the Hungry dinner and silent auction to benefit the Hancock County Food Pantry. It was a huge success this year once again, praise the Lord! Tom was the emcee again and he did a great job!
Katie sang at the dinner and did a great job! Our speaker was Sister Schubert of Sister Schubert rolls. She has an amazing story and is a great speaker. Her rolls are wonderful, you can find them in your freezer section at your local grocer and they also sell them at Sam's Club.

Mimi works all year on this event and puts some much time and effort into making this night a success for the food pantry. This year we had over 350 items in the auction. All of the items are stored at Mimi and Pop's house until the day before the auction, it's always a blessing to get it all to the church on the night before. Once again the Lord provided great items and wonderful bidders at the event. The auction alone raised $25,000.

I was so glad to have Andrea and her husband there. She donated some adorable aprons from her Etsy shop, Bowbakery, that were great sellers.

Jen won a cute baby girl basket with hand knit items for baby Rohn.

Such a great looking table. Drake was so cute and did so good at the dinner.

It was fun to have friends there to support this great event.

I am thankful for them!

Mom is such a great role model and gives so much of herself to help others! She is such a blessing to so many and I am so proud of her.

We had over 450 people attend the event and we were sold out of tickets.

It was a packed house!

The dinner was catered by Kopper Kettle and they always do such a great job. Sister Schubert signed her cookbooks as well and I was excited to get one! There are lots of great recipes in the book and I want to remember this special night. The most amazing part of this event is the total that was raised. This was definitely a God thing with the economy and the fact that our Colt's tickets were not as popular since we are currently the worst team in the NFL instead of the best team. The total raised with ticket sales, sponsorships, auction items, and one time donations equaled a little over $63,000!!!!

Praise the Lord.

This money will go to help so many families in our community over the next year.
